[Feature]: Option to Hide Visual Elements #423

Description

Checklist

  • I have searched existing issues and this feature hasn't been requested yet

Problem / Motivation

Please add an option to hide all visual elements in the application, including:

  • Album thumbnails
  • Artist images
  • Album artwork
  • Playlist covers
  • Background artwork
  • Any other visual media/images displayed in the interface

Some users prefer a minimal, text-only experience while browsing and playing music. A setting to disable all images would reduce distractions, improve accessibility, and provide a cleaner interface.

Proposed Solution

Add a setting such as:

Settings → Appearance → Hide Visual Elements

When enabled, all thumbnails, artist photos, album covers, playlist covers, and other artwork should be hidden throughout the application.

The app could display a simple text-only layout or placeholders instead of loading images.

Alternatives Considered

Benefits of this feature:

  • Cleaner and distraction-free UI
  • Reduced data usage
  • Better privacy
  • Improved accessibility for users who prefer text-focused interfaces
  • Potential performance improvements on low-end devices

Currently there is no built-in way to completely disable artwork and images across the application.

Additional Context

This feature is intended for users who prefer a minimal interface and want to focus on music rather than visual content.

The setting should apply consistently across the entire application, including Home, Search, Library, Artist pages, Album pages, Playlists, and the Now Playing screen.
