Patent-Pending Notice

The technology described in this repository is the subject of one or more United States provisional patent applications filed by the sole inventor, Stephen A. Rotzin, on April 24, 2026.

# Application No. Subject Matter
1 64/049,200 Spectral-Banded Compliance Stamping for AI-Generated Content — .smsh wire header, tier-banded compliance attestations, decentralized identifier binding
2 64/049,207 Compressed-Lexicon Encoding of Compliance State with Zero-Knowledge Visibility Tiers and Escrow-Released Audit Keys
3 64/049,213 Composable Surface-Property Monetization in Autonomous Agent Economies — programmable behavioral coatings, lottery-backed yield pools, tier-gated service markets (Hive Civilization)
4 64/049,218 Cryptographically-Anchored Universal Time Authority and SLA Enforcement in Decentralized Agent Networks (HiveClock)
5 64/049,226 Auditable Zero-Knowledge Spend Delegation Using Hierarchical View-Key Trees and Regulatory-Compliance-Bounded Authorization Proofs (Invisible Juggernaut)

Additional provisionals expected to file: HiveTrust (zero-treasury multi-rail settlement), HiveCompute Arbitrage Router (provider-tier cache arbitrage), Receipt Vault (hash-chained tamper-evident archival).

What this means

  • Open-source code remains open under its declared license. Patent pending status does not change your right to use, modify, or redistribute the code as the license permits.
  • Patent claims cover the underlying methods and systems, not the reference implementation. Independent re-implementations that practice the claimed methods may require a license once the applications mature into issued patents.
  • Provisional applications establish a priority date of 2026-04-24 for all claimed inventions, with twelve months to convert each into a non-provisional application.

Integration

Building on top of the .smsh header, ZK visibility tiers, HiveClock time anchor, or any of the other claimed primitives is encouraged — that is the point of publishing the spec. The patent moat protects against re-implementation of the underlying mechanisms by parties who would otherwise extract value from the schema without contributing to the network.
