Unable to start daemon on Windows #1
Description
While trying to start the daemon on windows, it throws the following error:
1. /tmp does not exist
2025/01/21 23:53:10 Failed to write PID file: open /tmp/telepath.pid: The system cannot find the path specified.
as windows does not have /tmp directory. You can try %TEMP% for this purpose.
2. Unix socket is not available in windows.
2025/01/22 00:09:15 Failed to create UNIX socket: listen unix /tmp/telepath.sock: bind: A socket operation encountered a dead network.
- a Windows-specific solution that mimics UNIX sockets, you can use Named Pipes.
- For cross-platform compatibility, TCP sockets are the best solution.
- Windows does not support file-based socket.
