Class registration and backward compatibility support

Hello,
My understanding is that Chill Akka user requiredRegistration= false and FieldSerializer for all classes. Is there a way to

1. Register some specific classes
2. Provide backwards compatibility for messages (useful for rolling restarts with new messages)

I am facing same issue, we are using ScalaKryoInstantiator to create kryo pool which internally uses FieldSerializer.

def kryoPool(): KryoPool = {
val poolSize = 10
val kryoInstantiator = new ScalaKryoInstantiator
KryoPool.withByteArrayOutputStream(poolSize, kryoInstantiator)
}

Now I am not sure how to support backward compatibility in serialization/de-serialization of my case clases
