I've just updated to version 5.2.0 and am trying to set the new type parameter on SetPasswordForm but I'm getting an error at runtime

But I tried the latest version off master and I'm still seeing the error

How is that should be

There should be no runtime error!

Have you tried what's mentioned in the readme ? (Search for "not subscriptable")

I believe you are in the special case where the monkeypatching has to be done a second time in an AppConfig

Ah thank you! I didn't spot that

For reference for anyone else with this issue, I also had to do the import of django.contrib.auth.form inside the ready() function, as it didn't like being imported at the top

You should not need the extra_classes nor the import. This is done automatically.

Sadly this is difficult for symbols in this exact module for the reason depicted partially in the readme. For more details, see #2659 (comment)

We could propose a patch upstream for future Django version, that would be the best way to solve this
