Description

Sometimes sponsored posts appear in my feed. UBOL is showing blocked ads so I am unsure why they still appear. This does not happen all the time. The ads were appearing on the optimal mode but switching to complete made them disappear and increased the number of ads blocked. (Please make your checkboxes more accurate, how can I say the ads appear optimal but not complete?) on optimal the number of blocked elements was ~86 and on complete it was ~140.

So the issue, to sum it up, is that “sponsored posts” on Reddit are sometimes not blocked when on the optimal filtering mode or lower.

The block count depends only on network rules and thus is unaffected when using complete -- there is nothing related to network rules in complete mode. The most likely explanation given your description is that the browser's content filtering engine wasn't fully ready at browser launch (as pointed out by @stephenhawk8054) and simply reloading the page (which occurs automatically when changing filtering mode) caused the different count once the browser's content filtering engine had finished initializing.

The cold launch issue is a browser issue and there is nothing which can be done in uBOL. It's possible the issue gets worse when using other extensions. On my side, I just open Safari then navigate to whatever web page I intend to go, I don't launch the browser by clicking a link from another application -- this way I haven't stumbled on improperly filtered web pages. Ideally Safari would filter everything properly at launch (as is the case on other browsers), but this is not currently the case and we will have to wait for a fix in Safari.

Same issue on MacOS Safari, not on cold launch. This is happening to both inline post ads and underneath the post detail ads.
