I think the current set up is OK but it could be more configurable.
An ideal configuration for me:
three big bells, or a roll down (when one must be in one's seat)
three small bells (to begin meditation)
two small bells (to begin walking)
one sound of clap sticks (to return to seat)
three small bells (to begin zazen)
one small bell (to end meditation)
This is a configuration for two periods of zazen but it should be simple to extend to any number. Therefore I suggest the options centre around variables to set: ramp-up time; sitting time; walking time and number of sitting periods. As for sounds: initial sound; begin sitting; begin walking; end walking; end meditation.
