How to prevent/handle crash on render after paste?

Sometimes contented pasted as HTML pastes into the editor but then crashes with an error such as the following:

Wrapping the insertFragment in a try-catch doesn't catch it, I think the error happens at render time. Is there a way to prevent this? Otherwise, what possible solutions are there for detecting a "bad" paste and rolling back the change in the editor?

There are 3 alternatives:

• Error boundary
• Overriding insertFragment

Can you elaborate on "Overriding insertFragment"? I appreciate that we could block the paste here but how could we know that it is about to cause a crash without rendering the editor?

An error boundary may work, I'll give that a go :)

By excluding/fixing the faulty code, but that often ends up into a quick & dirty solution (forking)
