Description

Please remove "created by privacy.sexy or similar" lines from host file.

My security team is always getting crazy when during the network scan they are recognizing words like "sexy" in the system files 🗡 I need to remove those lines now every time when I'm updating set of the rules generated by privacy.sexy script.

How can the bug be recreated?

  1. Choose options for telemetry blocking
  2. Download the script
  3. Verify not needed content from hosts file.

Hi, the reason for these lines are marked to be able to track if it was conducted by privacy.sexy during revert action. This way privacy.sexy does not touch these entries during revert if the user entered them manually (not added by privacy.sexy). Other type of metadata there would seem cryptic (added by who? why?) so I thought both "managed" and "privacy.sexy" solves them, so people know why they're there.

Is this Defender causing this issue? I believe no one manually scans hosts file for the word "sexy" but Defender seems to mark everything as problematic containing the word privacy.sexy (#421).
