# Want your own R mentor?
UNSW codeRs runs a mentoring program for anyone looking for one-on-one help to upskill or begin using R. You will be matched with a mentor whose expertise fits with your coding goals. This program may be especially useful for:
- HDR students who need to begin using R for their project
- Students or staff looking to scale up their analysis and reproducibility skills
- Students or staff needing to learn a new skill, such as HPC or Shiny
Matchups in 2026 will proceed on a rolling basis as our mentors become available, so be sure to fill out the EOI early!

# For mentors
We're looking for R users to join our community as volunteer coding mentors! If you enjoy helping others grow their skills, this is a great opportunity to share your knowledge, support emerging analysts, and strengthen your own understanding through teaching.
Mentors gain access to a network of like-minded professionals, recognition for their contribution, and the satisfaction of guiding learners through real challenges in data analysis and visualization. For early career researchers, this is a great way to boost your CV and show your teaching impact. If you're passionate about R and want to make a positive impact, we invite you to submit an Expression of Interest and become part of our register of mentors.

# Socials
UNSW codeRs will periodically hold socials for current participants (mentors and mentees) in the mentoring program.
