While VACS can be resized to a certain extent, for wide-spread adoption of the tool, considerations have to be made towards users with a restrictive screen setup.
A potential helpful and useful addition would be - although not present in the real system - the implementation of a "Mini Mode" to allow users with limited screen real-estate to take calls without alt tabbing.
Implementation of such a "Mini Mode" could potentially consist of the following:
-
Button on the mail page to activate mini mode -> activates mini mode and also activates "always on top".
-
The GUI of the mini mode should be as minimalistic as possible.
-
Contents of the mini mode could potentially be:
-
Of no activity, the mini mode could be as small as a few pixel and just display the status-LED. Click on said status-LED could resume normal mode. This approach would also allow users to open VACS as easily as if it was part of Euroscope.
-
Upon recieving a call, the mini mode could expand to show the "station calling"-button that, upon answering the call, becomes the END-button.
-
Optional the addition of the RADIO PRIO-button may be considered.
