https://github.com/simpleiot/simpleiot might be more to your liking than node red.

SIOT is golang and uses NATS as the broker.

NoddRed uses Kafka I believe.

SIOT come with a GUI and CLI, which is not quite as good as nodered flow based blocks but pretty good..

I use sherry IOT hardware and SIOT support it as well as other various stuff.

I am using my own Web GUi based on datastar that uses NATS to keep each GUI in sync in real time with NATS
