SMufoLib v0.3.0 has just been released.

SMufoLib is an extension to the FontParts API, specifically designed for working with SMuFL-compliant fonts. It provides a set of powerful tools that assist SMuFL font designers in streamlining their workflow, whether through Python scripting or efficient methods for adding anchor points, generating metadata files, etc.

With SMufoLib, users can store, manipulate, and access SMuFL-specific metadata directly within the font file. This includes attributes like glyph names, descriptions, classes, font design sizes, engraving defaults, and more. The library also simplifies working with SMuFL ranges metadata, and offers easy conversion between font units and spaces, ensuring a workflow more suited to SMuFL standards.

In addition to its core functionality, SMufoLib comes with a collection of pre-built scripts for generating metadata files, calculating engraving defaults, and more. It relies on the platform-independent Unified Font Object (UFO) format and the command line rather than any specific font editor.
