I'd gladly participate ! |
I'd also participate if the price is within my budget. |
We might be able to come up with a mutually satisfactory arrangement to incorporate Expression Search into my Kickstarter campaign in exchange for some combination of a portion of the proceeds of the campaign and a portion of the subscription revenue for it, if @wangvisual is interested and willing to consider switching to a subscription model for this add-on. |
Waw @Inserm-CRI-LBI @baraapro @jikamens That's amazing to see I wasn't too far from the truth! :D @wangvisual might have considered other plans while there was no funding… and right now we talk about easing the next steps. |
Thank you @jibe-b - well put! I, of course, am also in. |
Great idea. Has anybody had any communications with @wangvisual ? |
This morning I upgraded to Thunderbird 68.4.2, and immediately thereafter ExpressionSearch began working again. Unfortunately this held for only a fleeting moment ! I restarted thunderbird and upon restart it failed again as usual. |
@Inserm-CRI-LBI I guess it's better to open another issue, here it's about money (yours included ;) ) |
I'd be glad to participate too, how modest my financial help as a private/personal end-user might be, I'm sure thousands of users helping modestly could still be of some help... |
Since @wangvisual seems busy I am not sure if any crowdfunding campaign would help. I'd rather put up a bounty on #80 via bountysource. The problem seem quite a few duplicated bug reports all being not that concise. E.g. are #87 or #85 maybe a better issues to put a bounty on. Then again, actually addressing TB78 Mailextension would mean a rewrite and I am pretty sure that currently some stuff is not yet working (I thing the quickfilter function comes would be the easiest to go for but only the query function exposes enought expressiveness but does not interact with the MailTabs i think). BTW: the title is misleading because this addon is not a webextension... |
To All - I looked up @jikamens Kickstarter campaign, which I invite people to take a look at (link here). Jonathan, you seem like just the kind of guy we as end-users are looking for. To @wangvisual - if you get a chance, you might like to see it also. He is offering to take over ongoing maintenance, and seems experienced in this area. |
To be clear, I was not offering to take over ongoing maintenance, I was offering to incorporate this add-on into my Kickstarter campaign if the author was willing to continue maintaining it under a subscription model. I do not have the bandwidth right now to take on additional add-ons. |
@jikamens OK, thanks for the clarification, my misunderstanding. |
The author is just not responding. |
Ok so this is now completely broken in 68.5 which I upgraded to recently ... it was working (with quirks) until 68.4.2. |
@markusb68 please don't bring additional confusion and read the whole thread and the original issue #80 before posting additional bugs. It just makes the TB team angry and doesn't help. |
Maybe a different path would be supporting @alta88 to integrate the search syntax into TotalQuickFilter . In terms of feature, however, it lacks date support, but I might even get used to it... |
for anyone following here, please see: #92. It works fine for me |
The question in this issue is if @rzroth would like to maintain a fork of this? And if everybody is still willing to support him... |
@wangvisual We are several people who deperish a little more every day since the last upgrade…
I make the bet we can gather enough to pay you developping the next update, would you do it then?
@jikamens launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the upgrade of the Send Later extension (do contribute to it too!), that could be the two great crowdfundings of this quarter!
