spawn_tab and SpawnCommand

A newb question. Why does spawn_tab require it's own set of parameters rather than using SpawnCommand, like spawn_window? Why not add set_environment_variables to SpawnCommand, and program spawn_tab to accept a SpawnCommand as a parameter? The reason I am not posting this as a [FR] issue is I'm thinking there must be a good reason this has not been done.

Sorry, all I needed to do was spawn_tab(dos) instead of spawn_tab{dos}, and it works. I'm at the very bottom of the learning curve here.

Ooph, and I was being blind too. set_environment_variables is there in SpawnCommand. 😳

I have not tried much yet, but I'm starting to suspect SpawnCommand, spawn_window and spawn_tab all accept the same thing – SpawnCommand object – but describe it slightly differently.
