In https://www.teias.gov.tr/sites/default/files/2018-07/kurulu_guc_haziran_2018.pdf the total number of coal plants is given as 41 (30 local coal and 11 imported coal) and the total for "ÇOK YAKITLILAR KATI+SIVI" is given as 22. However the number of coal plants for Turkey in this database is much less.

Some of the missing plants may be in the source below ("ÇOK YAKITLILAR KATI+SIVI" may be "Lignite + f.oil").

Additional Info

Although the report mentions the government (i.e. EMRA) as the source of some or all of the data I suspect not all the plants listed are in fact operational. For example it seems from press reports that Afşin-Elbistan-A is shut down for a few years for refurbishment. If you would like me to contact the author to try and find out how he compiled the list please let me know.

Algedik paper has been moved to here.

The most recent government summary report is here by clicking "Kurulu Güç" and shows the number of coal plants has increased by 1 in 2018, which must be Çan-2 Termik Santrali. More info from the company

I think WRI1018724 is not completely coal as this newspaper says gas. Also one of the pics when you click " Enerji Tesisleri" is captioned "gaz". However from the Algedik link maybe it is 50MW gas and 27.5 MW coal?

Also Aksa, Cenal, Tufanbeyli, Şırnak Silopi and Çoban Yıldızı need to be added.

Is it possible for me to add these myself to save you work?

Önder Algedik has told me he is confident his report is correct but he is no longer updating it. However for 2019 Soma Kolin unit 1 is shown operational on both its entry on Coalswarm and on the Wikipedia List of coal fired power stations in Turkey citing different sources. As Turkey is now in recession I suspect very few, if any, additional coal fired power stations will become operational.

So as it seems no one else has time to resolve this issue if you could give me access to update only the coal-fired power stations in Turkey I believe I would be able to manually add the missing plants and correct some details on the already listed ones.

Please could someone look a this and the other issues I have raised re Turkey and respond as they have been outstanding for so long now that the info in this WRI database is losing value due to being so out of date.
