How do I enforce a scroll bar on the Y-axis for multiple categories?

Hi there,

So I'd like to see a scroll bar to appear on the Y-axis when I have multiple categories. I tried increasing the "Properties --> PlotSegment --> Gap" (inner padding of the categories) on the Y-axis and expected that it'll enforce a scroll bar within the defined height-weight of my chart area. Instead, it adjusted the size of the fonts dynamically, which I don't want (it made the items congested/wider as necessary dynamically).
Cause I've 5 charts and they all have different gaps, which I don't want, that's why I want them all to have the same inner gap between multiple categories on the Y-axis, and if any chart has multiple items / categories, it'll rather have a scroll bar to go to the rest of the items / categories, while maintaining the same inner padding in all the charts.

I'm attaching screenshots here (1st ss - shows 5 charts with different dynamic inner gaps of the lines and texts; 2nd ss - the properties section of the chart with multiple items), kindly suggest me how to get a scroll option (it's a mandatory ask by my team), thank you!

The visual has only virtual scrolls for plot segments.

Categories count of Y Axes has to be greater than Window size of scroll

But I don't have any other option like yours (Window size , Offset etc.) other than "Gap", why so? I need these two options, how do I enable them? I'm using community version 2.6.0. (this is the latest that's showing on my Power BI). I also tried to increase the "Gap" to the highest (100) as you can see, yet those options didn't appear.
Can you tell me if there's any other graph / visual style with these same kinda lines and arrows as well within charticulator, which I can use to enable scroll bar? Thank you!

You need to add data for Y axis.

There is no scroll option for plot segments without axes

Even if I add more data to Y-axis, it doesn't give me scroll bar, it shrinks the font size and inner spacing instead to fit them all in within the area.

I tried many things but it didn't work the way I expected:

• if I try to only add data to Y-axis, it doesn't allow me to add neither data nor a scroll option

• therefore, I tried to add data on X-axis first, then it allows me to add data to Y-axis, and shows me the scroll option, but then the graph becomes a mess

• so I tried to add Y-axis data, then enable the scroll option, then remove the X-axis data, then save the chart with the scroll bar enabled, but after going back, it looks like a mess again and no scroll bar visible on any side at all

I got you. You are using DateAxis, not Plot Segment Axes.

DateAxis doesn't supports that feature.

You can use virtual scroll only with plot segments.

I can add feature to keep the chart size constant, despite visual container size. When chart is bigger than visual container there will options for scrolling (browser based)

also, I've to use charticulator within Power BI (not browser based / web option), and I see the scroll option for Y-axis only when I enable data for X-axis (which I don't want cause that messes up my chart, I want a scroll bar only on Y-axis).

Decrease the windows size, for your case it should be less than 10

@zBritva I recorded my charticulator settings, what do I do to remove the overlap of the texts?

1. Do you need horizontal scroll or vertical scroll? or Both?
2. Why you keep text mark in glyph if you applied the data to Y-Axis?

@zBritva I need vertical bars only, I've reduced the window size now and turned off texts on Y-axis,

the labels on X-axis has become floating now, what do I do to keep it fixed and the rotation disabled?

I tried with first / last /all option for the axis visibility, it still remains floating on the main report.

If range is constant for all dataaxis you can add another plot segment with X axis then align values with the dateaxis then hide the dateaxis

@zBritva Thank you for all of your suggestions, so far it is looking the way I wanted but only on one slicer which I primarily made the changes on:

but when I'm changing the slicers, the color settings is all gone on those other slicers, as well as the one I just worked on and saved it too!

Why is it happening ? What setting do I change to make the colors (red --> negative, green --> positive) across all the slicers and also when I'm navigating back to my slicer that I just worked on?

1. Select the current Charticulator visual on report
2. Switch to Power BI Visual editor
3. Switch target settings to Charticulator:
   
4. The visual loads the JSON
5. Copy JSON to text editor for backup
6. Right click on editor and select "Format..." to format JSON code
7. Ctrl+F to open find input and find scales": [ there will be array of JSON objects.
8. Delete scales block by name that aren't used in chart.
   
9. Click save
10. Switch back to Charticulator visual.

but unfortunately the scroll bar doesn't work as expected -- I could configure the scroll bar on Y-axis but in the focus mode I can't use it, cause there's no way to scroll as you can see:

In the newer version (2.6.0), the scroll bar works properly as expected, whereas, the color scheme doesn't.
How do I properly configure the scroll bar on Y-axis in the older version (1.5.0) just like the newer version (2.6.0) ?

Summary -- The following screenshot is the scroll bar from newer version which I'd like to implement in the older version so that the color palette remains persistent. How to do that?

Legacy version (1.5.0) has bug related to scrollbar. The fix wasn not included.

Hope you're doing well. I have 2 questions:

1. In the ss, you can see for some brands it's just showing blank / lines when there's no value (green ticks) which I want to see in all the graphs, but some graphs are showing 0.0% (yellow highlight), I didn't do anything different to those graphs while designing, any idea which setting is causing this and how can I fix it?

2. Is there any new update on the scrollbar, as in, to use the mouse scroll while hovering over a particular graph, instead of, dragging the scroll bar manually till all the way up or down?

Also, in issue no. #50 , I asked for the link for the new updated version, even though I tried to add it and update from the power bi visual repo, seems like it's still using the old version.
