Hi @t1m0thyj, swig looks interesting and I think it would be a great fit! You can start by opening a new contribution request here: https://github.com/zopencommunity/meta/issues/new?template=contribution.yml Also, take a quick look at our contribution guidelines here: https://github.com/zopencommunity/meta/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md |

Hello! 👋
I'd like to get discussion started about porting the SWIG tool (Simplified Wrapper and Interface Generator) to z/OS. SWIG is a useful tool for creating bindings from C/C++ to Python and many other languages.
My team is already using SWIG on z/OS via a fork that I created and applied some patches to: https://github.com/t1m0thyj/swig-zos
I'd be interested in contributing this port to zOpenCommunity to make installing SWIG on z/OS as easy as
zopen install swig😊Please let me know your thoughts on this. Would a port of SWIG be welcomed, and if so are there any steps I should follow to make my port "official" besides the ones here? https://zopen.community/#/Guides/Porting
