v0.0.49
Pre-release
Pre-release
This is marked as a pre-release/testing release, as there were many changes since the previous version.
If you encounter any issues, you can use the previous version to install (and let us know so we can fix the issues).
Known Issue: Higurashi on Ubuntu (or Linux users with GNOME Desktop)
GNOME Desktop (the default on Ubuntu) will cause Higurashi Ep.4 and upwards to crash the entire desktop when you start the game. This happens even on the base game (without any mods applied). A workaround for this is to install XFCE desktop. You can follow this guide to install XFCE desktop (it can be installed alongside GNOME). Please make sure you can launch the base game before applying any mods (for ease of installation, please don't make any saves on the base game).
Added Features
- Add a preliminary version of the troubleshooting page back in, to show logs and save folder of detected games
- Add free disk space check on Windows, free disk space required message on Mac/Linux
- Add some notes about how download resuming works during the download
- After the install has finished, show information about cleaning up temporary files
- POST errors are now shown as toast notifications instead of alert(); popups (only on the installer page)
Bug Fixes
- On Windows, for Higurashi, extract archives directly to game folder
- should speed up install time, especially on HDDs
- this eliminates the 'too long path' issue some people had
- this should fix some permissions/fail to delete issues some people had
- On Windows, Fix detection of games installed to an alternative steam location
- Fix bug where install would fail if unicode in install path
- Reopening the install page if you accidentally closed it will now continue displaying the install status
Umineko
- Don't show umineko downloads folder at the end of the installation
- Add umineko ADV/NVL comparison images
- Add a printed explanation in the terminal next to aria2c Checksum Error messages (only affects Umineko installs)
Fixed in a previous release but not noted anywhere
- If you try to open the installer in Internet Explorer, it will tell you to use Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Because of this, the warning message about which browser to use on this page has been removed.
