Mình thấy google chrome bị lỗi gạch chân màu đỏ (tức bị lỗi chính tả) khá nhiều ở các chữ kết thúc bằng chữ "à", ví dụ như: ngà, tà, là hà, và nà,... Cám ơn bạn! Trong dự án này, chúng ta đưa tập tin .dic vào thư mục dictionaries; các thư mục kia chỉ để dành cho những tập tin đặc biệt của một ứng dụng nào đó. Chromium có thể dùng chung các tập tin với Firefox/Thunderbird và OpenOffice.org được không? Có phải Chromium chỉ cần tập tin .dic này hay cũng cần tập tin quy tắc gợi ý .aff?

Ngoài ra, có cách nào để cung cấp các từ điển riêng cho kiểu mới và kiểu cũ không? Nhiều khi người ta muốn thống nhất một kiểu thay vì sử dụng cả hai kiểu.

Apologies for using English (I don't speak Vietnamese): Yes, Chromium uses .dic files. We also require .aff files, so we can just use the files straight from the dictionaries folder.

However, Chrome has only a single Vietnamese dictionary. Advice on which one to use would be appreciated.

Some possibilities:

1. Use a combined dictionary for Chrome. We'd want to create the combined dictionary by concatenating the two existing ones. Everyone has a preference for one style or the other, and a spell checker should be consistent, so this option would miss a lot of typos that the user would expect it to catch.
2. Pick one style or the other. This would be a controversial decision, because overseas Vietnamese speakers generally prefer the traditional style, while many of those who studied the reformed style in school in Vietnam would prefer the reformed style. If we choose a style other than the user's personal preference, they either have to put up with red squiggles or start writing with an unfamiliar style.
3. Firefox/Thunderbird and OpenOffice.org allow the two styles to coexist with the "vendor-defined" vi-x-Old and vi-x-New locale identifiers. It works because of language fallback rules. We can choose better identifiers if necessary, but would something along those lines be possible in Chromium?

The distinction between the two styles matters because the affected words have a high prevalence – more prevalent and systematic than the differences between American and British English or between European and Brazilian Portuguese. (I'll double-check that statement when I get back to my desk, but I'm fairly confident about it.)

If option 3 isn't currently possible in Chromium, could you point me to the code that handles dictionary selection? I'd like to submit a patch to Chromium in that case.

trong file vi_VN.dic này không có từ đặc biệt nào cả, nó chỉ bao gồm kiểu cũ và kiểu mới (do chrome không cho phép lựa chọn kiểm tra chính tả kiểu cũ hay kiểu mới như firefox nên tốt nhất là để cả hai kiểu trong cùng một bộ từ điển, những vấn đề này bạn cứ tìm vi_VN.dic cũ ở trang chromium.org mà mình đã chèn liên kết sẵn ở trên bạn sẽ thấy có cả hai kiểu này trong cùng một file), nó chỉ bổ sung các từ còn thiếu đứng sau bởi âm "à" như: "à, nà, ngà, và, là, quà,..."
