Scan root folders automatically, add a Library Import page, fix release-name matching - #1163
Conversation
Adding or enabling a root folder (or changing its path) now starts a scan right away. Picking an IGDB candidate for an unmatched folder no longer re-searches IGDB with the raw folder name: the pick is checked against the candidates the scan offered and fetched by id, so release-style names such as "Absolum v1.01 [CUSA53342] [EUR]" can be matched. The Needs Review list also refreshes when a scan finishes so its last entries are not missed. SummaryAdds automatic scanning of root folders when added enabled, re-enabled, or when an enabled folder's path changes, replacing the manual Scan-button-only workflow. Also fixes a bug where matching a candidate for release-named folders (e.g. containing version tags/brackets) in the Needs Review list failed with HTTP 500 because the match logic re-searched IGDB with raw folder names instead of using the scan's stored candidate list, and fixes the Needs Review list missing recently queued folders by … Review Checklist

When none of a scan's guesses is right, each Needs Review entry now has a search field. The typed name is searched on IGDB and the results replace the entry's candidates, so matching still only accepts games the server offered for that folder. Description
Before: root folders lived in a Discover tab under Settings → Import, and they were only scanned when you clicked Scan, even right after you added a folder or turned on post-processing. In Needs Review, picking a candidate for a release-style folder (e.g.
Absolum v1.01 [CUSA53342] [EUR]) failed with HTTP 500 "Selected IGDB game not found in top candidates", as seen in a user's production log. When none of the guesses was the right game, there was no way to fix the folder. The Needs Review list and the Library could also stay stale after a scan. After: root folders and Needs Review have their own Library Import page, listed under Library in the sidebar (and in the mobile More menu). It is always shown, since the scan does not depend on post-processing. The Discover tab is gone from the import settings. A scan starts on its own when you add a root folder, switch one back on, change its path, or save the import settings with post-processing newly enabled (all enabled root folders). Picking any candidate shown in Needs Review links the folder. When no candidate fits, each entry has a search field: you type the game's name, search IGDB, and pick from the results. Needs Review and the Library refresh as the scan progresses.
The match failure came from
matchUnmatchedFolderre-searching IGDB with the raw folder name, while the scan searches withcleanReleaseName(folderName). The two searches return different lists, so the picked id was rarely in the second one. How:
server/routes.ts:/api/root-foldersstart a scan when a folder is added enabled, goes from disabled to enabled, or an enabled folder's path changes. PATCH reads the folder first, so an unknown id returns 404 before updating./api/library/scan/unmatched/search(IGDB rate limiter, string fields validated, queryof 1–200 chars).server/routes/import.ts: PATCH/api/imports/configscans all enabled root folders whenenablePostProcessinggoes from off to on.server/library-scanner.ts:igdbIdmust be one the server offered for that folder (the scan's candidates or any name search), then the game is fetched withigdbClient.getGameById.searchUnmatchedFoldersearches IGDB with the user's name and replaces the displayed candidates. Review follow-up
The Library Import header now uses the theme's foreground, primary and border colors. The title is readable in light and dark themes.
Validation on commit f751473: 23 focused client tests pass; TypeScript, changed-file lint/formatting, secrets scanning and the production build pass. Browser validation against
npm run dev:testchecks the title's computed color in both themes on desktop and mobile.Summary by CodeRabbit
Scan refresh review follow-up
Commit 2f6bc1d separates Needs Review updates from library game refreshes. Unmatched-only scan progress no longer reloads /api/games; a new match or the first completed/failed snapshot refreshes games. A new scan resets the comparison, and repeated completed snapshots do not trigger another refresh.
Validation: all 15 RootFolderDiscovery tests pass, including scan lifecycle refresh coverage. TypeScript, changed-file lint/formatting, secrets scanning and production build pass. Browser validation used npm run dev:test with mocked scan API responses to exercise progress and completion.
