Summary

• add a dependency-free local-only GET /healthz endpoint returning an empty 204 response
• install curl explicitly and declare a Docker health check against loopback
• load the amd64 PR image and verify healthy startup, non-root UID, and an actual create/delete probe under /data
• print inspect/log diagnostics on failure and always remove the uniquely named smoke container
• distinguish liveness from detailed System diagnostics in the README

Approved at exact head 1014957. I reviewed the local-only liveness contract and workflow permissions, reproduced locked restore, Release build with zero warnings/errors, all 105 tests, formatting verification, and the dependency audit. CI, CodeQL, and the container build/runtime smoke (including non-root and writable-data probes) are green.

Re-approved at updated exact head 27fe12c after the main merge. The resulting branch contains only the reviewed #48 delta over current main. I reran locked restore, Release build (zero warnings/errors), all 113 combined tests, formatting, and dependency audit; refreshed CI, CodeQL, and the complete container runtime smoke are green.
