A lightweight unofficial Minecraft launcher for Windows
PECL is a Minecraft launcher for Windows, and also a resource management workspace. It is not only about launching the game. The goal is to bring several common player workflows into one clearer and more stable desktop experience:
Choose an instance -> search resources -> install -> launch the game -> manage and adjust
If you often switch between Minecraft versions, Java, mods, modpacks, resource packs, shader packs, and data packs, PECL aims to make that work feel less fragmented and more predictable.
I know there are already many Minecraft launchers out there. If I had to explain why I still wanted to make one, part of it is filling in the gaps I used to imagine for myself, but even more than that, it simply comes from genuine interest.
- Minecraft version installation and instance management
- Java detection, managed runtime downloads, auto selection, manual selection, and hide or restore support for external Java
- Forge, Fabric, and OptiFine workflow support
- Browsing, downloading, and managing mods, modpacks, resource packs, shader packs, and data packs
- Resource isolation, task progress sync, installation feedback, and update delivery flow
- A growing foundation for community content browsing and future expansion
PECL is closer to a Minecraft launch and resource management workspace than a launcher that only starts a single version. The areas currently being refined are:
