Version tags invoke a common Java 21 Maven release workflow, validate the Maven version, and create a draft release containing the runtime plugin JAR, SHA-256 checksum and source/build metadata. Build and publishing permissions are scoped to their respective jobs.

The packaged plugin descriptor takes its version from Maven, and build artifacts are written to target/.

Workflows run on Ubuntu 24.04 with Node.js 24 actions: checkout v7, setup-java v6, upload-artifact v7 and download-artifact v8.

Pull requests into main run Maven verification with unit tests enabled. Successful builds upload a runtime JAR versioned DEV-YYYYMMDD-HHmm in UTC, with the same version in plugin.yml. Test reports are uploaded when available, including on test failures. Workflow run IDs and attempts distinguish artifact downloads. Branch push builds use the same development format.

Validation: local development builds and embedded versions pass; workflow linting passes. Hosted build 35742626934 passed with zero annotations. Downloaded geiger_counter-DEV-20260922-1446.jar and verified the matching embedded plugin version. This plugin currently has no Java unit tests; Maven still runs the test phase. Tag-triggered draft publication requires a release run.
