Stacked on #53.

Summary

  • Pool: /faction vehicle transfer pool puts a vehicle into the faction pool. It uses the same right-click and owner-consent flow as an installation transfer.
  • Ownership: pool vehicles are owned by the faction leader in VehicleFramework, like installation vehicles, and the owner is updated after a leader change.
  • Refusals: vehicle types that belong in an installation are refused. Field artillery is refused once the pool holds as many pieces as the faction has artillery slots.
  • Upkeep: the faction bank pays pool upkeep each day in VehicleUpkeepService. It shows as a display-only Vehicle Upkeep ledger line, so daily settlement doesn't charge it twice. An unpaid vehicle takes the existing hourly maintenance damage.
  • Military menu: a Vehicle Pool icon lists pool vehicles with their daily upkeep, anything unpaid, and artillery used against available.
  • Campaign battles: pool vehicles are allowed for their own war side. Installation vehicles are allowed only when their installation is in play. Personal or unregistered vehicles are never allowed, whatever the type.

Note

Installation vehicles have no upkeep charge today. They're skipped by personal upkeep and don't appear on any ledger. That was already the case, and this PR doesn't change it.

Test plan

  • mvn test
  • In game: transfer pool on your own vehicle and on another online owner's vehicle
  • In game: a member can use a pool vehicle
  • In game: the Vehicle Pool icon, including the artillery count
  • In game: in a campaign battle, own-side pool vehicles work, and personal and other-side vehicles are denied
  • In game: the daily tick withdraws pool upkeep from the faction bank

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Factions can pool eligible vehicles, transfer vehicles into the pool directly or with owner consent, and view pool contents, artillery capacity, upkeep, and payment status.
    • Vehicle upkeep is withdrawn from the faction bank and included in base-guild income and dividend calculations. Vehicles with unpaid upkeep are marked accordingly.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Battle eligibility restricts faction-pool vehicles to battles involving their owning faction and excludes personal vehicles from faction vehicle eligibility.

The changes add faction-owned vehicle pools with persistent ownership records, registration and consent transfers, faction-bank upkeep, battle-side eligibility checks, and an inventory display.

Changes

Faction Vehicle Pool

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pool ownership records
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/registry/*, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/registry/*
Vehicle records now store a faction ID for pool ownership. Registry queries and persistence support pool records. Faction-owned vehicles are excluded from personal vehicle queries and claim registration.
Pool registration and ownership sync
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/pool/*, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/berth/InstallationVehicleOwnerSync.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/berth/InstallationVehicleService.java, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/pool/*, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/berth/InstallationVehicle*Test.java
FactionVehiclePoolService validates vehicle ownership, type, existing registration, and artillery capacity before adding a vehicle. Registration stores pool ownership and syncs the vehicle owner to the faction leader. Installation registration rejects vehicles already in a pool.
Pool transfer flow
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/VehicleFactionCommands.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/berth/VehicleTransfer*, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/objects/request/VehicleTransferConsentRequest.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/utils/TabCompletion.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/maintenance/VehicleMaintenanceMessages.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/SimpleFactions.java
Transfer commands accept pool as a target. The listener handles direct pool additions and consent requests from other vehicle owners. Consent acceptance checks eligibility, registers the vehicle, and sends result messages.
Pool upkeep and ledger accounting
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/maintenance/VehicleUpkeepService.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/guild/income/{Cashflow,Ledger}.java, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/maintenance/VehicleUpkeepServiceTest.java, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/guild/income/LedgerNetIncomeTest.java
Daily upkeep for pool vehicles is withdrawn from the faction bank. Vehicles with insufficient upkeep funds are marked unpaid. Base-guild ledgers include pool upkeep in costs, net income, and the dividend base.
Battle vehicle eligibility
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/battle/BattleVehicleEligibilityService.java, src/test/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/battle/BattleVehicleEligibilityServiceTest.java
Battle eligibility denies personal vehicles and checks that a pool vehicle's faction shares the player's war side. New denial results and messages cover personal vehicles and pool vehicles on another side.
Pool inventory display
src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/managers/inventory/{MilitaryCreator,MilitaryView}.java, src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/simplefactions/vehicles/pool/FactionVehiclePoolLore.java
The military inventory displays a pool icon with artillery slot usage, vehicle upkeep, and unpaid status. The lore lists up to 10 vehicles and reports any remaining unlisted count.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 3dfb3

After a leader change, an already-loaded pool vehicle can remain assigned to the former leader until it spawns again. This is a bounded issue to fix or explicitly accept before merging.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 3dfb3

A pending vehicle-transfer consent can be applied to a different faction if the proposing leader changes factions before acceptance. The owner must still approve and the vehicle must remain eligible, which limits the exposure, but the resulting ownership also determines who pays upkeep and which battle side may use the vehicle.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: Pool consent is bound to the proposing leader and vehicle owner, but not to the faction for which consent was requested. If the proposer becomes leader of another faction while the request is pending, acceptance can register the vehicle to that faction, changing its leader-owner, upkeep payer, and battle-side authority.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — A misattributed pool record affects one vehicle’s VehicleFramework leader-owner, the faction bank charged for its upkeep, and its eligibility on a campaign-battle side.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A leader can initiate a pool request while leading one faction; if their leadership moves to another faction before the owner accepts, acceptance resolves the current faction rather than verifying the request’s initiating faction. Whether this leadership transition occurs within the request lifetime in production remains unverified.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The consenting player must match the request owner UUID; acceptance rechecks live ownership and pool eligibility. Battle interaction checks resolve the player’s participating faction, and pool-side checks reject unresolved factions or unequal war sides.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Bank withdrawal and maintenance-state persistence are separate steps. The reviewed source does not establish per-day deduplication or recovery behavior for an interrupted or repeated daily pool-upkeep pass.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind acceptance to the initiating faction’s stable ID as well as the proposer and owner identities; reject consent if that faction is no longer the authorized destination.
  • proposed — If the public eligibility overloads are intended as authorization boundaries for other callers, make missing required battle identity fail closed; the reviewed event handlers currently use the fuller check path.

Leaders can put vehicles into the faction pool with /faction vehicle
transfer pool, using the same right-click and owner consent as an
installation transfer. Pool vehicles are owned by the leader in
VehicleFramework, the faction bank pays their upkeep (shown as Vehicle
Upkeep on the ledger), and the military menu lists them with artillery
used against artillery slots. Vehicles that belong in an installation
are refused, and so is artillery once every slot is used.

In a campaign battle, pool vehicles are allowed for their own side,
installation vehicles only when their installation is in play, and
personal or unregistered vehicles never.

🟡 Minor · Resync loaded pool vehicles after a faction leader… · InstallationVehicleOwnerSync.java:56-69

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Resync loaded pool vehicles after a faction leader change.

Faction.setLeader updates the faction and guild leaders, but it does not synchronize registered vehicles. VehicleSpawnListener invokes the new POOL branch only when a vehicle spawns. Therefore, a vehicle that is already loaded when leadership changes can retain the former leader in OwnerData until a later spawn. Add a leader-change hook that applies the expected owner to each loaded pool vehicle.
