Here you can find builds for the very latest development version of Tauon.
You may want to use these releases if you want to:
- Get a fix for a bug that hasn't made it to a stable release yet
- Help catch bugs before they make it to a stable release
- Experience new features and changes earlier
Please report any issues either over at Discord or the GitHub bug tracker.
Note
Windows pre-release builds can be wrongly flagged by Defender, it is safe to whitelist them.
See #1062 for more information.
Warning
It may not be possible to go to an older version after using a pre-release build due to migrations, if this concerns you, backup your user data to be able to go back.

Lots of bug fixes that were introduced from v11.
- Fixed a possible Milkdrop crash.
- Fixed columns auto resize in custom UI mode.
- Fixed synced lyrics not showing in lyrics widget.
- Fixed airsonic import skipping tracks.
- Fixed brief visualiser stall on track advance.
Whats that? Just bug fixes? That's too boring you say? That's alright this release does have one new feature:
New UI style: Frost
This release adds "Frost low" and "Frost high" background modes, as well as "Glass+" for full window transparency. All modes are now mutually exclusive so no more ugly combinations allowed.

One of the biggest problems with Tauon was that is was crap and not very good. BUT NO MORE!!! With v11 this issue is fixed and Tauon is good now!
Customisable layouts
Sick of the old boring layouts? You can now re-order the UI however you please!
This release moves the layout switcher to the left side as its own button where you can now add, customise and rename your own layouts. Note the original layouts are kept as is and are not editable.
This update includes 3 new widgets (shown):
- Gallery: Compact
- Track: Details
- Visualiser: Spectrogram
How to:
- From layout menu: Select Empty Slot, then again select Edit Mode.
- Right click in empty area and add a Stack.
- Then add a widget from the 'Add...' submenu.
- Exit Edit Mode by pressing layout button again.
Milkdrop updates
- You can now select a "Cut Out" option so you can show through album art (on some presets).
- You can now select presets by name in the new preset selector.
- You can favorite presets to put a star next to them in the selector.
- Enabled on macOS builds now. (Performance issues exist with some presets and not all features are supported)
Improved network loading
Remote tracks should now start faster. Seeking should no longer require a full file download.
Other changes:
- You can now search lyrics in the global search screen.
- New app loading screen backdrop.
- Many settings moved to contextual menus.
- Fixed support for large Jellyfin imports.
- Fixed poor performance on settings UI.
- New setting for rounded window corners!
- MB4/MB5 buttons now cycle layouts.
- Lots of bug fixes.

Known Issue: Scroll and touch input may still be poor on some configs.
Known Issue: CI decided to kaput right when I wanted to release so win and mac builds are from a slightly earlier snapshot and missing some minor fixes.

Tauon v10
Welcome to Tauon version 10.0.0, the most kickass update yet!
This release includes:
- A redesigned settings UI (super cool)
- You can now add items to queue directly from search (middle mouse click)
- There's a new in-app guide in the search overlay, because who know how it worked?!
- New smooth scroll support (enable in settings)
New layout option
You can now have album art in Columns view. You can also now have the metadata panel on the left side!
Wide mode Milkdrop in Showcase
Milkdrop is now supported in the Showcase view, with a new wide layout option as well.
Tauon's Milkdrop feature is now supported on Windows/Linux, still no macOS though.
New theme editor!
No more messing with text files, you can edit themes right in the UI now, no more having to copy and paste.
Bonus! A new mini mode named Signal (Just for fun)

- Removed Spotify support
- Cleaned up and removed some settings
- A shorter shuffle button
- And yes, finally, I caved, the scroll bar is on the right now.
