Two-Layer AI Protocol

A structured workflow protocol for AI-augmented software development — separating Design AI (architecture & planning) from Implementation AI (coding & execution), with the human as the bridge.

Born from real project failures and refined through building Bridgiron and ExitWatcher (an Android app built in 4 days with zero Android experience).

What's in This Repo

This repository releases protocol components alongside a dev.to article series. Each article ships a usable piece of the protocol.

Component Description Status
Vol.1 Generator Interview prompt that creates your personal AI collaboration profile ✅ Available
Vol.2-3 Quickstart Minimal workflow definition to get started 🔜 Coming (Article 3)
Vol.4 Example Project handover template with implementation skeleton 🔜 Coming (Article 4)
Full Package Complete protocol bundle 🔜 Coming (Article 5)

Vol.1 Profile Generator — Quick Start

The most impactful single piece of the protocol. A profile document that tells any AI who you are, how you think, and how to collaborate with you.

How to Use

  1. Download vol1-generator/vol1_generator_prompt.md
  2. Open a new chat in your preferred AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
  3. Type the following message and attach the downloaded file:
Follow the instructions in the attached file and begin the interview.
  1. Answer the AI's questions (about 10 minutes). Voice input strongly recommended — you'll get a richer, more natural profile.
  2. When the interview is complete, the AI outputs your personal profile as Markdown.
  3. Save the output as a .md file (e.g., HandOver_Vol.1_YourName_Profile_r1_gen.md)

Why Voice Input?

When typing, people unconsciously compress their thoughts — stripping away context, habits, and nuances that are critical for good AI collaboration. Voice input removes that friction. Ramble freely. The AI will organize everything.

Requirements

  • A web browser (Chrome, etc.)
  • Any chat AI that accepts file attachments (Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
  • Desktop or mobile

Growing Your Profile

Your profile isn't a one-time thing. After completing a project with AI, ask your Design AI: "Based on our work together, what should I add to my profile?" The AI has observed your thinking patterns and decision-making habits. Feed that back into your profile, and it gets sharper with every project.
