@chrisjsewell I'd like to add this plugin here since I've been using it and it can be quite handy (e.g. when testing codes that have long runtimes / are difficult to install on CI).

As the docs describe in more detail there are two aspects to it - it can mock codes + it can speed up tests via caching.

Nevertheless, the name aiida-testing is very generic, so I'd just like a second opinion on whether that is considered acceptable or whether we need to go through the process of changing it to something else.

Errm, I guess I would say aiida-testing is more of a "tool" than a plugin, although not necessarily against it being on here; I would think its more something to advertise/suggest in the docs (on how to write plugins)

It's true that it currently does not provide any entry points.
On the other hand, I think it would make sense to advertise it here.

I'll bring it up some point in the AiiDA meeting and will hold the PR off until then.

Yeh no worries, indeed its good stuff though, so should definitely be advertised
