core-sga files

Hi,
I am running MATAM assembly on my fastq files but while doing so, the program also generates a ton of files starting with "core-sga-XXX-nodeXXX". Why are these files being generated and is there  a way to prevent them from being created. This is causing my work folder to increase in the number of files.
