sortmerna recently moved to conda-forge. For technical reasons this renders all old sortmerna versions on bioconda unusable, i.e. the matam bioconda recipe can not be updated at the moment.

Would it be possible to update the dependency to a recent sortmerna version?
Describe alternatives you've considered
Theoretically it might be possible to maintain sortmerna 2.1b at conda-forge, but it might be tricky since this version is nearly 9 years old.
