Some of these devices are made exclusively by Adafruit, others are available elsewhere. I am including the Adafruit prices to give you an idea of the costs.

Adafruit PowerBoost 500 Charger - Rechargeable 5V Lipo USB Boost @ 500mA+

Adafruit price: $14.95 (March 2016)

The 1000C with a USB power supply can power a RasPi and charge the LiPoly battery at the same time. The 500C does not do both at the same time. Therefore I recommend the 1000C.

MCP3008 - 8-Channel 10-Bit ADC With SPI Interface

Adafruit price: $3.75 (March 2016)

Lithium Ion Polymer Battery - 3.7v 2500mAh

Adafruit price: $14.95

A 2500mAh battery is about the minimum size to power a Pi. In the experiments here it powered a Pi Zero with a USB/Ethernet adapter for about one hour.
