Exporting to Revit
It is possible to export the terrain mesh to many programs. Some programs dont support importing a mesh though.
One such program is Autodesk Revit. This particular programs can import a terrain as either curves or points.
Altough you can use the curve import feature many times Revit does some kind of optimizations and you do not have control of how it interpretes the curves. Therefore often the import points options is the best way to get a mesh terrain from Rhino to Revit.

You can use the "Terrain Pts" to get a list of all the XYZ coordinates for each vertex of the terrain mesh and by saving this a .CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file you can import them into revit and get a perfect representation of your terrain. When Revit imports the .CSV file it wants to know the units of the points. These are the same as the Rhino units. So specify millimeters if your Rhino is set to that and meters if it is that and so on.
Thats it! Go and make awesome terrains in Rhino and make Revit eat them!
