Access data from TSD
This page is of use to you only after you getting access to the GWAS/Methylation as well as to TSD. Make sure you have received access confirmation from your MoBa administrator before you try accessing data.
The GWAS/snpArray data will be available to you through a shared directory p229MobaGenetics, while methylation data will be found on p229methylation. Both directories are on TSD.
The MoBa administrator is the one to give access to one or both of these directories. One way of contacting them is you can contact them is mail to mobaadm@fhi.no - but you probably have been in touch with them during the apllication process.
Here is a link for contacting TSD directly - you might need them for installing software that is not pre-installed or can be installed by yourself.
You can access TSD with both - in the documentation below we will refer to paths on the unix form, using / to separate directories.
Regardless of what you choose to use, the MoBa Genetics team cannot help you install software you need on TSD - Contact TSD directly.
The Linux home of the MoBa Genetic data on TSD is
/tsd/p229mobagenetics/data/durable (windows users will want to mount
up \\ess01\p229mobagenetics\data\durable note slash vs backslash). Furthermore, almost everybody
will want to access the structure MOBAGENETICS-V1.
The corresponding home for methylation data is /tsd/p229methylation/data/durable
Windows users should mount the disk when accessing TSD for the first
time: Inside TSD, open the file explorer and right-click This PC and
select Map network drive from the menu. The drive letter can be any
letter not in use and the folder name is
\\ess01\p229mobagenetics\data\durable or
\\ess01\p229methylation\data\durable (type it instead of using
Browse). Select “Reconnect at sign-in” for convenience and press
Finish.
If you have problems or want to map up more drives, refer The TSD documentation Map up network drives for details. Also note that you are not allowed to access p229 itself, but rather published sub-directories p229mobagenetics and p229methylation (see above).
Note that since files are generated on a linux system, you might need some non-standard tools on windows (.gz files …) as well as experience the typical end-of-line problems.
The above should have pointed to the right place. Refer to the wiki home page for the juicy stuff!
