As someone who organized and shared an event with us last year, we’d love to highlight your work again in 2025! You can now submit your upcoming event to be featured on the website and help spark this year’s global conversation. The 2025 theme asks a pointed question about the present moment and how, in a time of disruption, communities can reassert control over the knowledge they produce. It also challenges us to reflect on not only who has access to education and research but on how knowledge is created and shared, where it has come from, and whose voices are recognized and valued. This theme builds on the conversations, events, and actions over the past two years that have focused on putting “Community over Commercialization.” While Open Access Week officially takes place October 20–26, you're welcome to host events or discussions at any time that fits your local context. To support your efforts, customizable graphics templates are available to help promote your activities.
