Student Tech Collaborative

The Student Tech Collaborative is a partner of HackYale that hires, trains and manages Yale students to build apps for ITS. It's a fantastic way to improve your coding skills, and make money while you do! For more info, contact Dev management:

Some info about the Student Developer program and what resources are available for you:

Learning

Along with other organizations (such as HackYale), the Student Developers and Adam teach courses in software development.

This spring, there will be an Intro to Web Development (using Ruby on Rails) course. If you sign up at the following link, they'll notify you when registration opens up: http://goo.gl/3IW21K.

They are also considering introductory workshops in mobile app development. You can indicate your interest in this on the previously-linked form as well.

Jobs

Twice per year, they hire (and provide additional training for) students to work with them and build software for the university. These projects usually relate to student life in some way (either academics or student facing programs).

As an example, current projects include: a pilot project to help students provide instant feedback during lectures; the app that supports the Bass Media Equipment Checkout Program, and a housing registration app.

Applications are open now, and you can find out more at http://yale.edu/stcjobs.

Support

Adam is also here to help answer questions you may have (anything from technical questions to submitting ideas on new projects for us to consider). Feel free to reach out to him!
