Third-Party Updates for Intune

This repository packages your working Service Desk menu as-is together with Intune Detection and Remediation scripts.

✅ To use your full engine: copy your Third-PartyUpdates.UtilityMenu.ps1 (the working menu from this chat) into src/ before pushing this repo.
The remediation will automatically prefer that full engine and run Update-ThirdPartyAll.

Contents

  • src/Engine.psm1 – light, non-interactive update engine (fallback).
  • src/ThirdPartyUpdates.UtilityMenu.ps1 – PLACE YOUR FULL MENU HERE (optional but recommended).
  • intune/Detection.ps1 – returns 1 if updates pending.
  • intune/Remediation.ps1 – runs updates; prefers full menu, otherwise uses fallback engine.

How to deploy (Intune Proactive Remediations)

  1. Detection – paste intune/Detection.ps1.
  2. Remediation – paste intune/Remediation.ps1 and upload src/Engine.psm1.
If you also upload your full menu as ThirdPartyUpdates.UtilityMenu.ps1, it will be used automatically.
  3. Run in 64-bit PowerShell 7, System context recommended.

Local use

Import-Module .\src\Engine.psm1 -Force
Update-All

Notes

  • The fallback engine uses winget upgrade only (silent, accepts agreements).
  • When the full menu is present, the richer logic (Evergreen, Chrome MSI/EXE flow, choco fallback, policy) is used.
