Note that the Probabilistic MIDI Sequencer does not make sound on its own. Please connect/open a MIDI enabled device to hear sound. The sequencer will automatically detect and send messages to all available MIDI devices.

Please note that Web MIDI is only supported by certain browsers. Please use one of the following:

  • Edge
  • Chrome
  • Opera
  • Firefox

Usage

To start/stop the sequencer, press the spacebar (or click on the play/stop icon). To adjust BPM (rate of change of sequencer steps), click and drag on the bpm adjuster, or double click to reset.

To input notes, first select one of the 16 steps you would like to edit in the sequencer grid. Then, use the piano to activate a note and adjust the energy. Click and drag on a key to adjust the energy of that note or double click to toggle maximum energy/deactivate. When the step becomes active, notes with high energy have a greater probability of being selected to play (out of all the activated notes for that step).
