Retrieving Data

In order to estimate persistence, one needs data from all IR observations that precede the observation of interest. These can be retrieved from the HST archive (as long as the proprietary period for them has expired).

A way to do this is as follows:

For each visit, in which you wish to estimate the exposure time, identify the data of the the observation, e.g May 29, 2016.

  • Go to the MAST search form for Hubble data
  • Select observations for WFC3 only
  • In the Start_Time field, enter the range of dates for data you want to retrieve, e. g. May 28 2016 ... May 29 2016. One should retrieve data for at least 24 hours in advance of the first data set in a visit
  • In User Specified Field1, select Central Wavelength and enter > 9000 for the criterion
  • Run the search and retrieve all of the files in the standard manner. (Be sure to get the imh, flt, and spt files)
