AI roleplaying application, but better
Risuai-Next is a highly customizable, open-source, specialized role-playing AI application that uses your API key.
Unlike the original Risuai, which was made before modern LLM workflows existed, the goal of Risuai-Next is to create an application that suits modern LLM workflows.
Risuai is now over three years old, and it's still good at its job; however, as time has passed, bottlenecks have grown: a one-state base approach that was only suitable when the app was small, token management that isn't suitable now, tool calls that were monkey-patched, and lots of now useless features that make the app heavy.
There were also many instances where I thought it would have been better to go in a certain direction, such as managing prompt presets and toggles pre-chat instance, handling everything as modules, improving the GUI design, and adding agents.
Risuai-Next will solve these issues because it is being built from scratch. It was originally planned as separate apps, such as Risuai-Lite or Risuai-Power, but I chose to make it one program.
Nothing. Risuai will continue as is. Risuai-Next will be a separate app that runs separately. The reason the name "Risuai-Next" was chosen is simply because I couldn't find a better name; it is not intended to replace Risuai. I will probably change the name before releasing it.
I want to focus on the program myself in the early stages. It will be opened when it's ready.
I only contribute to this project occasionally, in my spare time, after prioritizing my main job and other projects like Risuai. Consequently, there are no development deadlines, and progress may be very slow.
