expand skip-existing-in to skip also those already processed by daily batch

What is the relationship between this PR and #258? While merging one branch into another isn't forbidden explicitly, it's going against the DM style of a linear history, and it's not something you would normally need to do (at best, it will cause complications in the final rebase). |
