Summary

The Campaigns tab now looks like Schedules. New campaign and Edit are one modal wizard in the Tasks/Schedules modal, instead of the /ads/campaigns/new page and the long edit form.

 <AdsTabs>
- <AdsCampaignsToolbar> # above the list
- <Table> / stacked rows
+ tab row: [Campaigns Market Accounts] ······ <AdsCampaignsToolbar> (account · range · + New campaign)
+ holder > row cards # HOLDER_* like Schedules: name + status badge, type · budget/day, figures, menu

-/ads/campaigns/new (page)
+<AdsNewCampaignDialog> # lazy, opened from the toolbar; inside TaskFormModal (New task / New schedule)
+ loads getGoogleCampaignSetup # new server action (languages, Market defaults)
+ <NewGoogleCampaignWizard> # Campaign type → Basics → Targeting → Keywords (Search) → Ad → Review
+ <NewMetaCampaignWizard> # Basics → Review

 /ads/campaigns/[campaignId]
+  layout.tsx {children}{modal}
+ @modal/(.)edit → AdsCampaignEdit # Edit from details opens the modal over them (like Task edit)
edit/page.tsx → AdsCampaignEdit # direct link: same modal on its own
- <EditGoogleCampaignForm> # long single-page form
+ <AdsEditCampaignModal> → <EditGoogleCampaignWizard> # Basics → Targeting → Keywords → Ad → Review
  • The wizard sits in TaskFormModal, the modal New task and New schedule use: same size, title centred, Cancel on the right, Back in the header, Next or Create in the footer.
  • Next checks only the current step (form.trigger(stepFields)) and focuses the first refusal.
  • Campaign type cards follow the Billing plan cards: icon, description, a "You'll need" list per type, and an accent border on the chosen card.
  • Review shows a simulated Search result or Display placements (lib/ads/ad-preview.ts) with "Show another combination", beside a summary that has an Edit link per row. Create campaign is in the footer.
  • Skeletons match the new list (page and tab) and the wizard.
  • Fix: optional Sitelinks/Callouts now open when a step's check finds a refusal inside them. Before, they opened only on submit, so the wizard's Next could block with the error hidden.
  • Edit reuses the wizard (GoogleCampaignWizard with a New or Edit setup) without the Campaign type step, since the type can't change. Every step opens from the bar, and Save changes is on Review with "Saving sends the ad back to Google's review." Started campaigns keep their start date locked. Cancel and save return to the details page with the same query. The edit breadcrumb is only registered on the direct route, because the intercepted modal slot stays mounted after closing.
  • ads-campaign-form.tsx now holds only shared hooks: the old EditGoogleCampaignForm and its frame are gone.

Evidence

The list and edit screenshots use local sample data, because the local Google account has a placeholder Composio id.

Merge Danger

Door: two-way

Web only. Nothing changes in Core, the API or the database. Reverting brings the page back.

Blast Radius: ads

  • Only the Ads Campaigns tab and campaign creation are affected, and both sit behind the Social beta.
  • Old links to /ads/campaigns/new now 404. It was only linked from the toolbar.
  • Not checked: phone width (Chrome wouldn't resize), and a Display review with real images (tests cover it).

Why

Save on Review can land on the Ad step with a sitelink or callout refusal already set. The section recorded that refusal as already seen and stayed closed. A lost session while opening New campaign showed the connection failure, because every setup error became one panel.

The section now starts open when it appears already refused. An unauthenticated setup goes to sign-in. Other setup failures still offer a retry.

What changed

  • AdsOptionalSection starts open when it mounts already invalid.
  • AdsNewCampaignDialog sends an unauthenticated setup result to sign-in.

Scope

This covers those two failures on the campaign wizard.

Left out. Dates stay in Settings. The setup still loads when New campaign opens. The wizard file stays one module.

Verification

  • Four new tests failed first. The section stayed aria-expanded="false". Sign-in was not called.
  • The same three files then passed 39 tests.

The campaigns list now uses the Schedules row cards, with the account,
range and New campaign on the tab row. New campaign opens a modal
wizard (Campaign type, Basics, Targeting, Keywords for Search, Ad,
Review) instead of the /ads/campaigns/new page. Each step is checked
before the next one, the type cards say what each type needs, and the
review shows a simulated Search or Display ad before Create campaign.
Skeletons match the new list and the wizard.

Optional sitelinks and callouts now open when a step's check finds a
refusal inside them, not only on submit.

The wizard now sits in TaskFormModal, like New task and New schedule:
the same size, the title centred, Cancel on the right and Back in the
header's start slot. The account moves to the footer beside Next. The
Review step uses the wider panel to show the preview beside the summary.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
A step check uses form.trigger, which does not bump submitCount.
Once the field is already invalid, closing the section and pressing
Next leaves the refusal hidden.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
A step check replaces the field error and does not bump submitCount.
The section opens when that error object changes and is still a refusal.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
The variant count ignored logos, so a second logo never appeared.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
objectiveAndBudget, LockedCampaignType, handleNext, and handleCreate say what they hold or do.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
The action imported a route module. The loader and the load-error helpers now live under lib/ads, and every caller imports that path.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
The feature note still described a campaigns table and a create page.

Edit now opens in TaskFormModal over the campaign's details, through
@modal/(.)edit like Task edit; a direct link to /edit shows the same
modal. It is the create wizard without the Campaign type step (the type
can't change), with every step open from the bar, and Save changes on
the Review. The old single-page edit form is gone.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Keeps the edit modal's structure and applies the branch's review
changes on top: restating comments dropped, handleNext / handleCreate
names, google-setup and ads-load-error from lib/ads.

Saving from Review mounts the Ad step with a sitelink error already set, and the section stays closed. A lost session while loading a new campaign shows the connection failure.

Co-authored-by: Francis Luz <francisluz@users.noreply.github.com>
A sitelink or callout section that appears with a refusal already set starts open, including when Save on Review returns to the Ad step. A new-campaign setup that fails because the session is gone goes to sign-in. Other setup failures still offer a retry.

📝 Walkthrough

Ads campaigns now use responsive cards and modal-based creation and editing. Creation and editing use step-based wizards, with Google ad previews, validation, setup handling, and localized campaign summaries.

Changes: Ads campaign experience

Layer / File(s) Summary
Campaign cards and loading states
apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaigns.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaigns.test.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-skeleton.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-tabs.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/loading.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/page.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/messages/{de,en,es}.json, docs/features/ads-management.md
The campaign table and separate mobile rows are replaced with responsive cards. Cards show campaign status, objective, daily budget, metrics, and actions. Campaign loading states use row-specific placeholders.
Campaign creation wizard and dialog
apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaign-toolbar.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-new-campaign-dialog.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaign-wizard.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-ad-preview.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaign-form.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-optional-section.tsx, apps/web/src/lib/actions/ads/action.ts, apps/web/src/lib/ads/ad-preview.ts, apps/web/messages/{de,en,es}.json, docs/features/ads-management.md
The campaign toolbar opens a provider-specific dialog instead of linking to a new-campaign page. Google setup loads before the Google wizard; Meta opens its wizard directly. The wizards validate steps, display review summaries, and handle save results. Google previews rotate ad text and images.
Campaign editing modal and routes
apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/campaigns/[campaignId]/@modal/..., apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/campaigns/[campaignId]/edit/..., apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/campaigns/[campaignId]/layout.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/campaigns/campaign-edit.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-edit-campaign-modal.tsx, apps/web/src/app/(app)/ads/components/ads-campaign-wizard.tsx, apps/web/messages/{de,en,es}.json, docs/features/ads-management.md
The shared campaign edit component supports both the intercepted edit modal over campaign details and the standalone edit route. The modal displays campaign data, notices, or a loading skeleton, and preserves query parameters when returning to campaign details.

The new campaign wizard and edit modal look sound. One small display issue remains: the Review step can show a schedule date one day off for users whose browser time zone differs from the app's configured time zone. The saved data is not affected, so this is safe to merge with a quick follow-up.

Local midnight plus the UTC formatter shifts a positive-offset date back one day. adsDay already pins Core campaign days to UTC.
