It is important to note that this connector would be materially different from the data offered by FRED from the St. Louis Fed.

• The source of this data is the New York Fed. It is not a subset of FRED data. A connector already exists for FRED.
• The purpose of this data is meant to reflect auctions, purchases, sales, securities lending operations activity. FRED provides historical data and macroeconomic figures, such as inflation rates, GDP, unemployment, interest rates, etc.
• Markets Data is updated in real-time or daily. FRED is scheduled and runs about a month or so behind, sometimes quarterly.
• The audiences also differ. Market participants - dealers and economists, for example - watch these NYF numbers for liquidity and transaction results, whereas FRED caters more to academics, analysts, policy researchers, economists
• New York Fed's focus shows the impact of monetary policy on the open market. FRED is geared more towards research, policy modeling and macroeconomic forecasting.
