I found the word
scopeto be pretty confusing since sometimes it was a list and sometimes it was a nested map. It seems to more often be used as a list and that's what theSystemRegistry.scope()type is. This change renames and documents the nested map conversion function. It's a public function, but since it wasn't documented and used as a helper, it felt "private". If it is really public, then this is a breaking change.
