  1. The Academic Phrasebank is a general resource for academic writers. It aims to provide you with examples of some of the phraseological ‘nuts and bolts’ of writing organised according to the main sections of a research paper or dissertation.
  2. How to Write a Great Research Paper by Professor Simon Peyton Jones,Microsoft Research includes:
  • A full-length video tutorial of 57 minutes (Another shorter version of 34 minutes)
  • Slides in PDF format (Also in PPT) Note: You should feel free to repurpose these slides for your own use as long as you acknowledge ownership of Prof. Jones.
  • Slides translated into Other languages: Japanese,Arabic
  1. How to Write Papers So People Can Read Them by Derek Dreyers as a part of PLMW'16 talk.

Books

  1. The Elements of Style, Fourth Edition 4th Edition by William Strunk Jr.
  • This book is often suggested to undergraduate student in universities as it's short and easy read. I compiled a summary of the rules with examples for my technical writing course as an undergraduate. You can avail it here if you want to. However, the main book is A L W A Y S preferred if you are not running short of time!
  1. BUGS in Writing, Revised Edition: A Guide to Debugging Your Prose (2nd Edition) by Lyn Dupre.
