docs(integrations): the documented default HTTP timeouts no longer match the code (claude-code, codex, workbuddy) #1730

Closed

Description

@AlexStocks

What is wrong

61ebcd85 (fix(recall): honor the query contract bound and the remote embedding budget, #1700, 2026-09-21) raised the default HTTP timeouts from 1.0 / 4.0 to 3.0 / 6.0 in three integrations, but the user-facing documentation still advertises the old defaults. Users reading the docs will size their own overrides against values that no longer apply.

Affected code (all three parse the same two variables):

  • integrations/claude-code/plugins/powercontext/claude_code_settings.py:58-59 → 3.0 / 6.0
  • integrations/codex/plugins/powercontext/settings.py:127-128 → 3.0 / 6.0
  • integrations/workbuddy/plugins/powercontext/hooks/workbuddy_settings.py:46-47 → 3.0 / 6.0

Affected documentation (still says 1.0 / 4.0):

Integration Documentation
Claude Code docs/en/docs/integrations/claude-code.md:227-228 (1, 4)
Claude Code docs/zh/docs/integrations/claude-code.md
Codex docs/en/docs/integrations/codex.md:226-227 (1, 4)
Codex docs/zh/docs/integrations/codex.md
WorkBuddy docs/en/docs/integrations/workbuddy.md:226-227 (default 1.0, 4.0)
WorkBuddy docs/zh/docs/integrations/workbuddy.md:199-200 (默认 1.0, 4.0)
WorkBuddy integrations/workbuddy/README.md:194-195 (default 1.0, 4.0)

How to reproduce

git show 61ebcd85 --stat # code changed, no docs in the diff
grep -n "request_timeout_seconds: float =" integrations/*/plugins/powercontext/*settings*.py
grep -rn "REQUEST_TIMEOUT_SECONDS" docs/en/docs/integrations/

Suggested fix

Update the default column in the three integrations' environment-variable tables (English and Chinese docs, plus the WorkBuddy README) to 3 / 6, or state that the values are defaults rather than duplicating them in prose so the next change cannot drift again.

Noticed while reviewing #1729; unrelated to that change and not addressed there.
