Toolbox is the editor- and inspection-oriented companion application for FreeTrainSimulator. Historical news posts may still refer to earlier TrackViewer work; that effort evolved into the current Toolbox direction.
Today, the wiki only captures Toolbox details indirectly through news posts and screenshots. The most relevant historical entries are in News Archive 2023 and News Archive 2022.
This page should grow into the canonical reference for:
- the main views and what each one is for,
- how route and path inspection works,
- how Dispatcher-related functionality overlaps with Toolbox,
- and which editing scenarios are already supported versus still planned.
