Encrypt any file with AES-256-GCM — the same standard used by banks. Set a password and the file is unreadable to anyone without it
Device-to-device encryption — use the Publisher Tool to encrypt files with the recipient's RSA-2048 public key; only their specific device can decrypt them. No shared passwords, no key exchange risk

Works on any Android phone from 2019 onwards (Android 10 / Q or newer).

First launch — storage permission: When you open the app for the first time it will ask for storage access. On Android 11+ this opens a system settings page — tap "Allow" to grant access to all your files. Without it, the app can only see its own folder.

Privacy

9G Files works entirely on your device. It does not:

❌ Send your files or file names anywhere
❌ Connect to any external server (only servers you configure, such as your own FTP or NAS)
❌ Collect analytics or usage data
❌ Display advertisements

Device-key (format 9GEK)

RSA-2048/OAEP/SHA-256 wraps a per-file AES-256-GCM session key.
Only the target device's private key (stored in Android Keystore)
can unwrap the session key and decrypt the payload.
