Translations in languages other than English are machine translated and are not yet accurate. No errors have been fixed yet as of March 21st 2021. Please report translation errors here. Make sure to backup your correction with sources and guide me, as I don't know languages other than English well (I plan on getting a translator eventually) please cite wiktionary and other sources in your report. Failing to do so will result in a rejection of the correction being published.

Translations are currently done with Bing translate and DeepL. Support for Google Translate translations is coming to a close due to privacy concerns.

A family of parody/spoof operating systems that mimic the Windows family of operating systems. Originally was going to be called Losedows (in reference to the Free Software Foundations name for it, see GNU: why call it the Swindle) but I decided it would be too unprofessional to name the project that, and that a better name was needed. Doors was a second option, but it also seemed too generic. I decided to go with Drapes, as it is another word for curtain, which covers a window.

TODO: Losedows XD: Something regarding the 'bush hid the facts' bug in WIndows XP (read about this online, it is a rather interesting bug/feature that was present between Windows 3.1 and Windows XP) basically, it was an encoding bug, where a certain string of bytes within Notepad would nullify a file (I will need to reference it myself to explain it here)

SoftMicro is the reverse of MicroSoft. The name was inspired by a YouTube video from CS188 regarding Steve Ballmers and Windows 1.0, where the audio was modified to make Steve Ballmers say "Soft Micro" it was during a time when I was fixated on Windows, due to it being the time in my life where I was experiencing nostalgia for the first time. The name was used on my former Scratch accounts, and their Windows spoof projects, until it began to be re-used here.

The logo for the C/C++ IDE, known as Code::Blocks, is being used as a placeholder logo for SoftMicro, due to its resemblence of the Microsoft logo. I know what CodeBlocks is, and this is just temporary (once a new logo is commissioned, it will be replaced)

SoftMicro is a collaborative parody of Microsoft
I have had an interest in Windows parodies for a long time, and it is something I am rather experienced in, due to starting development of them in the early days of my computer programming experience (circa 2015) Microsoft developers are welcome, and encouraged to come develop here (if Microsoft allows them) The goal is to build a funny series of joke projects that people can enjoy. It is similar to Windows RG (Really Good edition) but with a lot more effort.
