Build Bluetooth once. Ship it everywhere.
SimpleBLE is the cross-platform Bluetooth Low Energy stack for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Use it from C++, C, C#, Python, Java, Kotlin, Swift, Dart, Delphi, Go, Rust, JavaScript, React Native, or Flutter, with a dedicated API for Unreal Engine.
- One cross-platform API: Keep application-facing BLE logic consistent across desktop and mobile.
- Native underneath: Use WinRT, CoreBluetooth, BlueZ, and Android Bluetooth through one maintained stack.
- Built for real products: Central- and peripheral-role support across all supported platforms.
- Commercially supported: Ship proprietary applications with licensing and direct technical support available.
Choose the API that fits your project in the Installation guide, then get to a first BLE scan in minutes with the Quickstart. For tutorials, recipes, platform notes, and API references, visit the Documentation.
Dongl is a USB Bluetooth adapter made for SimpleBLE. Its Bluetooth stack runs in firmware we develop together with the library, so it behaves the same on every Windows, macOS, and Linux computer.
Use Dongl when you want firmware visibility, customizability, and direct support from the team building SimpleBLE.
- Plug in several Dongls next to the computer's own adapter; SimpleBLE lists each one as an adapter.
- Get real device addresses on macOS and Windows, and answer pairing requests without system dialogs.
- Evaluate the firmware on Nordic's nRF52840 Dongle or DK.
- Read the Documentation and Announcements.
- Ask questions and share projects in GitHub Discussions.
- Review the security policy or learn how to contribute.
- Explore the lower-level SimpleBluez and SimpleDBus libraries.
- Visit our website or email us about commercial licensing and professional services.
- Browse the SimpleBLE Store.
SimpleBLE is available under the Business Source License 1.1 (BUSL-1.1). It is free to use for non-commercial purposes
and requires a commercial license for commercial use. Each version converts to the GNU General Public License version 3
four years after its initial release. Qualifying non-commercial users may instead continue using and distributing that
version under the original BUSL-1.1 terms through the Non-Commercial Perpetual Use Grant in LICENSE.md.
Free commercial licenses are available for qualifying small projects and early-stage companies, and commercial licenses carry no royalties or revenue sharing. See www.simpleble.org for pricing and commercial terms, or leave us a message to discuss your use case.
