I have translated all lines.

I haven't been able to create a runnable software for Lagrange using this language code, so I don't know if my translations are fitting to the context. I will check this once I have downloaded an AppImage.

This is a translation to norwegian oaktongue or in norwegian "norsk eikemål".

I'm unfamiliar with "Norwegian Oaktongue". Could you elaborate on what we are talking about here, please?

In Weblate, where the translations are managed, there are two options provided currently for Norwegian:

  • Norwegian Bokmål (nb_NO)
  • Norwegian Nynorsk (nn)

There are a few different philosophical approaches when it comes to how we are supposed to use our language. In norwegian those direction comes in the shape of agreed upon ways to write. In order to understand these directions we need to understand their origin. I can delve into this, but the point is that we have ended up with two directions that has gained support from the state. Norwegian nynorsk and norwegian bokmål.

The oaktongue/ eikemål is a product of my development of caring forth a worldview that makes us live with instead of against. The oakframe claims that change stems from our language, branches out to how we dream, then branches to how we sightsteer and then to our deeds and attitudes. What makes us not gain change is that might has infiltrated our language and made us look away from nature towards machine, away from samhold towards our infantilization by the state, away from our blossoming and towards the coldness.

So in short, I made up oaktongue in order to see the change I want to see in the world. Under you can see some of my work in norwegian.

As a rule, I'm only including languages in Lagrange that have a substantial number of users. Are there other people using your oaktongue?

Here's what you need to do to add a language to the app yourself:

  • po/compile.py: add it to the list of languages.
  • Run po/compile.py to produce the .bin version of the strings.
  • CMakeLists.txt: add to the RESOURCES so it gets packaged to resources.lgr.
  • resources.c/h: add a new iBlock for the language strings and add a name mapping to the entries_ array, so it gets loaded from resources.lgr.
  • lang.c: In load_Lang_, add an ID → block mapping. Also check if the plural type is appropriate, and define a new one if necessary.
  • ui/util.c: In makePreferences_Widget: add it to the langItems array.
